Decisions, decisions!

28th August 2012
I would appear to be reaching a decision point. Photokina is imminent, and I am lucky enough to have an invite to the Leica party/announcement on the eve of the exhibition.
A number of products are expected and mostly known about (or at least well-rumoured in advance), but there may well be a surprise or two kept very secret.
One strong rumour is an M10 announcement, but exactly what form it will take is unknown unless one is a beta tester of course (I'm not).
I think it will prove to be too expensive for me, and in any case I am considering the M Monochrom, pricey though it is.
I am however torn between that and partly shifting to the mFT system.
Reason - convenience and less weight and bulk to heft around. Oh - and a few other things like a convenient zoom, perhaps? Stricly for those occasions when a little wider/longer might be useful.
Candidates for my hard-earned are the Olympus OMD e-5m (?) - dreadful name but a great little camera; the Panasonic GX1 (there's a GX2 coming shortly I believe); or possibly moving to the rumoured Fuji X E1, although that's not 4/3.
All in all quite a lot of investigating to be done in mid-September at Cologne. As I've said before, watch this space.
