FREEDOM TO PHOTOGRAPH

The freedom to take photographs in public places in the UK is increasingly under threat
due to mass hysteria over both paedophilia and the Government (and hence the Police) paranoia
regarding terrorism. Stop and Search powers are being used with ever increasing frequency on the
flimsiest of excuses. Legitmate photographers are now mounting campaigns in an attempt to make the
powers that be realise that photographers are neither criminals nor terrorists.
Please join the campaigns through these links:

Photography is NOT A CRIME! and also I'm a Photographer, not a Terrorist!

Photographers' rights when stopped:
You can download a copy of your rights when stopped under the Stop and Search powers here. Print it out and keep it on you!

Now comes a further despicable piece of poorly worded and insufficiently thought-through legislation all in "the public interest". You can find more details about this assault on our fundamental rights to our own images and to photograph freely on this page. It's quite a long piece but well worth reading as it affects us all!
