The Dreaded Coffee Stain

20th June 2012
Reviewing the images taken of the fly-past after the Trooping the Colour Parade last Saturday, I noticed the "coffee stain" has started to appear on the screen of my M8.2. This brown marking seems to be caused by separation of the screen from the underlying LCD.
In some cases it seems that this might eventually go away, but this could take some time and it might spread and become more noticeable. It does not affect the actual image recorded, fortunately.
Nevertheless I have taken the decision to send it off to Solms to have it repaired. The only snag is that there is a possibility that they will not be willing to repair it, but will instead offer me an M9 or M9-P at a discount.
This is not really what I want, as my plan was to trade in the 8.2 at some point. I feel that the discount offered will not match the camera value, and I will lose out. Watch this space!
